Saturday, October 31 | Mayborn Museum Complex

Celebrate Halloween with a little spooky science and a lot of heart at the Mayborn Museum Complex. Stop by for our Spooky Chemistry Magic Show, explore the Attack of the Bloodsuckers exhibit, and make a life-saving difference by donating blood. It’s the perfect way to give Halloween a little extra meaning: while vampires may be after your blood, your donation can help save a life!

Schedule your donation!

Who can donate?

Donors must be at least 16 years old, in good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and present a valid government- or school-issued photo ID. Donors who are 16 must bring a signed parental consent form. Download the parental consent form here.

How long does donating take?

Plan for about 60 minutes for the entire donation experience. The actual whole blood donation takes about 10 minutes once you're settled in, while double red cell, platelet, and plasma donations take longer. One hour of your day could make a lifetime of difference for someone else!

How should I prepare?

Drink plenty of water before your appointment and eat a healthy meal two to four hours before donating. Wear a shirt with sleeves that can easily roll up above your elbow, and bring your photo ID.

This Halloween, bite back against blood shortages and be someone’s lifesaver!
